Bangui, 2 April 2026 - The Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, Prof. Richard Filakota, received the Director General for Central Africa of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Léandre Bassole, for an official meeting in Bangui.
Bassole was accompanied by the AfDB Resident Representative in the Central African Republic, Mamadou Coulibaly, along with his team.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the government and the AfDB, particularly in relation to the implementation of the National Development Plan (PND-RCA). Filakota praised the quality of the ongoing partnership and called for increased involvement of the Bank in key reform and development projects.
Particular emphasis was placed on AfDB’s financial commitments: during the Casablanca investors’ roundtable, the institution announced a $300 million support package for the PND-RCA.
The meeting highlights the strong alignment between the government and the development bank, as well as their shared commitment to accelerating the country’s economic transformation.
