Casablanca, November 12, 2025 – “To all investors, both African and international, I say: do not be afraid. The CAR welcomes you with open arms”, proclaimed Gilles-Gilbert Gresenguet, President of the National Union of Central African Employers (UNPC), at the Investment Round Table in Casablanca. His speech embodied the renewed confidence of the Central African Republic and the determination of its private sector to turn optimism into opportunity and transformation.
He called on the international business community to join hands with the Central African private sector: “Together, let us build lasting partnerships and shared growth. Let’s capitalize on the vast potential. The CAR is open and ready.”
A Nation Open for Business
Gresenguet emphasized that under the leadership of President Prof. Faustin-Archange Touadéra, the nation has regained peace and security, the essential conditions for growth and openness. TheCAR is now turning the page on its past and building a new reputation – one defined by confidence, opportunity, and openness. “Yesterday, people said the Central African Republic was a high-risk country. That belongs to the past,” he said. “Today, the CAR offers a favorable legal and institutional framework, the imminent creation of a Special Economic Zone, and a strategic location at the heart of Africa.”
The country, he added, is ready to become a privileged gateway to regional and international markets, supported by a reform-driven economic environment. His message to investors was clear: “Join us and seize the opportunities the CAR has to offer.”
New Strong Partnerships with Morocco
Gresenguet also announced a memorandum of understanding between the UNPC and the Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM) – a strategic partnership to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the two nations.
This agreement, he explained, focuses on five key areas: identifying priority sectors such as agro-industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial transformation, and digital services; facilitating partnerships through B2B meetings and trade missions; organizing joint economic events across the CEMAC region; promoting cross-investment with regional value; and enabling technology and skills transfer through training and co-development projects.
A Confident Private Sector
Speaking with conviction, Gresenguet described the private sector as a key ally in achieving the National Development Plan’s objectives and building a resilient economy. “The National Union of Central African Employers will be your trusted partner,” he said. “Our mission is to defend the interests of businesses, energize the private sector, and accompany investors throughout their establishment in the Central African Republic to ensure their long-term success.”
