Casablanca, September 15, 2025 — After a dynamic and high-energy opening day, Day 2 of the Investment Round Table in Casablanca kicks off with renewed momentum. Building on the strategic discussions, institutional endorsements, and investment commitments from Day 1, today’s program turns the spotlight toward the private sector, special economic zones, and direct investor engagement.

Business Leader Breakfast Sets the Tone

The day begins with the AfriNexus Business Leader Breakfast followed by a series of opening speeches will follow, featuring:

  • Patronage of the Central African Republic

  • Patronage of the Kingdom of Morocco

  • Dahlia Khalifa (Regional Director, IFC – International Finance Corporation)

Structural Reforms and Investment Climate in the Spotlight

Prof. Richard Filakota, Minister of Economy, Planning & International Cooperation, will once again take the stage to open the day officially. His remarks will be followed by two analytical presentations:

  • Charlotte Ndaw Sako (IFC): “Business Ready: Where does the CAR stand? What needs to be improved?”

  • Minister of Justice, Human Rights, and Good Governance (Keeper of the Seals): “Summary of the Business Climate in CAR and Ongoing Reforms”

Global Perspective on Structural Transformation

Cheick Kante of the World Bank will deliver a keynote speech titled “Challenges of Structural Transformation by 2028”, framing CAR’s development efforts within a wider regional and macroeconomic context.

Deep Dive: Special Economic Zones and Value Chains

A major highlight of Day 2 is the strategic panel on Special Economic Zones and Value Chains, featuring:

  • Thierry Patrick Akoloza, Minister of Trade and Industry (CAR)

  • Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade (Morocco)

  • Representatives from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and IFC/A50

Immediate Opportunities and Business Engagement

Following the strategic presentations, the floor will open for the presentation of immediate investment opportunities, targeting both institutional and private sector actors. This will be complemented by dedicated B2B sessions, enabling hands-on exchanges and matchmaking between CAR stakeholders and international partners.

Closing Remarks: A New Chapter for CAR

The day will conclude with closing remarks by His Excellency, President Prof. Faustin-Archange Touadéra, reflecting on the outcomes of the round table and charting the next steps on the path toward implementation.
