Minister Filakota Hails Historic Breakthrough after Successful Round Table

Bangui/Casablanca, October 1, 2025 – “The Central African Republic is back.” With these powerful words, Prof. Richard Filakota, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation, opened his press briefing at the closing of the Investment Round Table in Casablanca. Speaking to international media, the minister radiated confidence and determination, declaring that the country had reached a decisive turning point.

Filakota emphasized that the success of the Round Table was no coincidence but the fruit of months of accurate preparation and a bold strategic vision. “We did not arrive on unprepared ground,” he underlined. “We prepared sufficiently — not only in terms of strategic areas but also by putting in place structuring and high-quality projects. All of this was the result of meticulous work.”

The results exceeded all expectations. Instead of the 4–5 billion USD originally hoped for, the event mobilized more than 9 billion USD in commitments. “This is a beautiful harvest,” Filakota remarked with pride, stressing that the achievement is not only a financial breakthrough but also a resounding signal of trust from the global community.

At the press conference, he took questions from international journalists in French and Sango. Filakota highlighted the pivotal role played by key partners, especially Morocco, which hosted the Round Table, as well as the World Bank and the IMF, whose engagement helped build the credibility needed to achieve such unprecedented results.

“The quality of our work was there — and so were the results,” the minister concluded. “Together with our President, we are proud of this path we have taken. Now begins the decisive part: transforming these commitments into concrete outcomes that change the daily lives of our citizens. Results will speak for themselves.”
